The Australian National Occupational Health and Safety Commission (NOHSC) has assigned exposure standards to many airborne substances. These standards are set at a level that should not cause health effects or discomfort to workers. However, we encourage the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) concept with regard to exposure to chemical contaminants.
